Joel Waldman

Joel Waldman is a producer for MSNBC’s The Abrams Report, a prime-time legal affairs show hosted by Dan Abrams, NBC’s Chief Legal Correspondent.

Prior to re-joining MSNBC, Waldman spent four years as the New York Stock Exchange correspondent for First Business, a nationally syndicated early morning television program seen on over 200 stations. In this capacity, he also reported regularly for WebFN, a streaming financial news website

In the summer of 2000, Waldman produced a live, weekly variety show for Michael Moore. Among his many roles, Waldman was responsible for Michael’s Nude News, a re-enactment of the week’s biggest news story sans clothes. Waldman also helped Michael Moore track down the world’s poorest person so he could meet the world’s richest man, Bill Gates.

In 1996, Waldman began at MSNBC at its inception. He quickly worked his way up to producer working on live news, as well as taped programming. He covered major news stories during the network’s infancy, including the death of Princess Diana as well as the crash of TWA Flight 800. Waldman also worked on Headliners & Legends hosted by Matt Lauer, a nightly biography show.

Waldman began his journalism career as an NBC Page working for Tom Rogers, the former Executive Vice President of NBC.

Joel Waldman is a native of Highland Park, New Jersey. He graduated with honors from Brandeis University with a degree in English Literature and also holds a master’s degree in Education from the Bank Street College Graduate School of Education. Before working for NBC, Waldman spent two years teaching inner-city children in Washington Heights, New York. Joel Waldman lives in Hoboken, New Jersey.
